Brody was born on July 9th at 10:04 pm by c-section. He was 8lbs 12oz & 19 1/2 in. He started having a hard time breathing and the Dr discovered a heart murmer. He was transferred to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis on July 10th. Brody was intubated when he was transferred, but felt that he didn't need that breathing tube & removed it himself shortly after arriving at Glennon! He has been referred to as "feisty" by the Dr's & nurses. He was diagnosed as having an aortic valve stenosis after an EKG, Echocardiogram, multiple blood gases & bloodwork. Despite his heart problem, his heart is very strong & he is doing very well. Both Brett & Kasey have been able to hold him & they say he is a very good baby. He will have a balloon catheter dilation Monday morning at 9 am. The Dr's feel confident that the procedure will go well and he will be discharged 2-3 days later. Kasey was able to get out on a pass on Friday and spend a few hours with him. She had to return to the hospital for one more night & will be discharged on Saturday. She is doing well, she just wants tobe with her little boy. He is as cute as can be & please keep praying for my wonderful "feisty" little nephew & pray for his daddy & momma too!
