Looking good

We had a bit of a scare with Kincaid over the weekend. I had my routine ultrasound 3 weeks ago at 20 weeks, & they couldn't see part of his head. He was breech & they told me it was positional & that I should come back in 2 weeks & get it rechecked. I went back for the follow up on Thursday at 22 weeks & he was still breech. The radiologist eventually came in & said there was a portion in his brain that he couldn't see & it could be his position or there could be nothing there & he wanted me to go downtown for another ultrasound. My midwife called me on Friday & said it could be positional or it could be something bad. She got me in with the best Maternal-Fetal Medicine Dr in Vegas for a Monday afternoon appt. I tried not to worry, but after our experience with losing Hadley just a short 7 months ago, I was scared to death. Corby was able to get off work & go with me & we got a babysitter for the boys. The first thing they looked at was his head & this time he was head down. They were able to see all parts of his brain, including where he makes spinal fluid & where the fluid connects to his spinal cord. They were able to see inside his mouth & see that he had no cleft palate. We saw that he was DEFINITELY a boy & were able to see that he had all his fingers & toes & no club-feet. This was the most amazing ultrasound I've ever seen. The Dr even did some 3D pics for us. He seems to resemble Braylen a lot & even Corby could see that. Basically, we were just reassured that everything is fine & that the radiologist on base didn't have adequate equipment to tell me that there was a problem, but that he did the right thing by sending us to MFM. He is perfect & healthy & beautiful (& no, I'm not biased...just look at his pics!) He is measuring right on schedule & weighed 1 lb 5 oz...5oz bigger than the average 23 wk baby. The Dr did want to rule out any clotting problem since we lost Hadley at 27 wks with no medical explanation so far. I'll go get those tests drawn this week. I start my twice-weekly NST's next week on the 30th & I'm actually looking forward to an hour or so of quiet while we have a babysitter here with the boys :).

Corby has started Red Flag again, so he has a crazy schedule. The boys are doing great & we are starting to work on Tucker's potty training. He'll go when I put him at the potty, but still will have accidents, so we'll take it slowly & I hope to have him mostly out of diapers by the time Kincaid arrives. Braylen is obsessed with any type of animal. I've bought them sea animals in the tube from Joann's & he carries them everywhere he goes. They still love trains & we are getting them a train table for Christmas.

Patrick & Melissa were able to come visit for the weekend & we had a great time. We got to see them for 1 day in April, but other than that we haven't see them in a year. Melissa is pregnant (YAY!) & is 13 weeks now. We were able to go out to dinner & a show & really had fun while they visited. Hopefully, we'll be in the same city with them again soon!

I was hoping to be able to visit Cheryl & her new baby, Addison, at the beginning of Nov, but it looks like Corby's schedule won't allow that & I am only able to go certain days because of my NST's. We'll have to plan something another time & maybe I can get her out here & out of the cold before Mike deploys again ;).

My mom & dad & Grandma are coming to visit in 3 weeks & will be here during the Air Show. I know the boys will have a blast with Mimi & Papa here & getting to see all the airplanes. They'll even be able to see "daddy's plane" again.

That's about it so far. I've bought Kincaid a swing, a baby book, & a sling. All I really need is to get his bedding & a few odds & ends & we'll be all set. There are advantages to having multiple boys in March, January & February!
