Time to breathe

This last week has been great, as you could probably tell from the previous posts, but we have also had a few scary moments too. The Monday before Thanksgiving, I called the OB clinic because I had been having some cramping for about a week & it was really bad over the weekend. They wanted me to go to the ER, so I did & was a nervous wreck the whole time. Corby met me up there to take care of the boys & I had blood drawn, exams & an ultrasound. Everything checked out ok, even though when the DR first looked at the ultrasound he goes, "hmmmm" & I broke down. There was still a heartbeat, but apparently he wasn't getting a good angle on the baby. I think he needs to pick a new sound to make! So, they called it a threatened miscarriage & told me to watch for symptoms of miscarriage & so far I've been great. I have another appt in 2 weeks, so hopefully everything checks out then. The good news is that I'm out of the dreaded 1st trimester, so now I can breathe!

This Monday, Braylen slept a little later than normal, but he had been up at 4 with growing pains in his legs (poor thing, I remember those). I was downstairs with Tucker & went up to check on him. He was still in his bed at 8 & he was crying. I went in & he wouldn't move. He kept saying he had an owie & pointing to the right side of his neck behind & under his ear. So, I picked him up & carried him down to the couch & he drank his milk. He wouldn't look to the right & he wouldn't get up or move at all. He sat there for an hour, then I took him upstairs to change his clothes. He said he wanted to watch a movie, so I set him up a bed on the couch with his pillow & cars blanket & he watched 3 movies without moving. Usually, we will put on a movie & they will watch for a few minutes, run around & play, watch for a few minutes, run around. It's not like Braylen to not move for 5 hours. I called the clinic around lunch to see if I could do anything else for him & they wanted me to bring him in. They did a bunch of tests; made him walk (he hadn't all day), turn to the left & right, look up & down. Poor Bray was so upset & kept yelling, "Ow" & "help me mommy, help me". I was almost crying with him. They said at that time they were calling it a neck strain, but if he got a rash or fever to bring him to the ER immediately to rule out meningitis. When we got home, he gradually started walking & playing. For the last 2 days, I've been on rash & fever patrol & so far we are in the clear. He is back to normal now, but he still isn't looking to the right as easily. I think part of it may be that he is afraid of hurting it. So, we can breathe, Bray doesn't have meningitis!

There are no problems with Tucker, he's wild & crazy as ever. Corby is fine too!

Ok, those are my scary stories. Hopefully, no one will wake up with problems & everything will be fine at my next OB appt, too.
