It' been awhile since I've posted...many of you may have forgotten about us! We haven't been doing much lately. We have survived our 2nd Red Flag. Corby was gone 2 days the first week & 3 the second week. The boys hate to see him go, but thankfully, they are fine once he's gone. I think that is great & makes it much easier to leave them with babysitters & in the nursery at church. The next Red Flag is in a week, but Corby won't be gone at all the is working the day shift, so he should be home in the morning, for dinner & best of all, at night. I'm thankful we have an alarm system, but it still feels better when he's home. There have been lots of break-in's & murders on the news...more in the north part of the city than I have seen before. I feel safer when he's home.
Braylen has been counting to 10 for a month or so now, but over the last week or two, he has taught Tucker to do it! Tucker tends to leave out 3, but it is so cute to hear them count together & they get excited & say "Yea" at the end. 7 continues to be the favorite number & it's a favorite of mine too. They pronounce it "seben". I love it. Braylen also has picked up phrases like, "mommy, where are you?", "i'll show you", "follow me" & "good job". He tells me "good job" for almost anything...when I pick up toys, put together his puzzle, put away the dishes, & even when he goes potty. We have been hitting the potty training hard. He has been doing better. The first day we went through 9 pairs of underwear! I thought I would go crazy...the laundry room smelled like a port-a-potty & I had wet spots all over the floor. After 3 days, he has been doing better about going on the floor, but still isn't telling me when he has to go. He doesn't really fight sitting on the potty & loves the routine after he goes. He helps me dump it & flushes the toilet then "wash you hands" & of course, M&M's. We have been singing the ABC's with them lately & Braylen knows over half of the song. He is really growing up & I can't believe he will be 3 in a few weeks!
Tucker also has been counting to 10, as I said & also loves "seben". He has picked up the ABC's from Braylen too & his favorite letter is "W". They have been playing really well together & I see Tucker starting to be the leader more & more. He has picked up the phrases, "I find it", "help me", "thank you", & he has been calling Braylen "bay-bay". They are really cute to watch & they have been making up more & more games to play together. After we read our bible stories at night, they both clasp their hands & after we pray, they say "amen". Tucker then will run to his bed & he goes right to sleep. They are suck good boys.
We got good news this past week about Corby's Cystic Fibrosis test. I had tested positive as a CF carrier, so Corby was tested. If he was positive, there was a 25% chance of no effect on the baby, a 50% chance the baby was a carrier & a 25% chance the baby would have the disease. Corby's test came back negative! We were so excited & relieved. We will still have all the kids tested to see if they are carriers in the future. As for this little girl, she is moving like an acrobat & I love it. I have a few contractions here & there, but nothing I'm concerned about so far. I go back to the DR on Thursday for my 24 week appt. We have decided to keep her name a surprise, but it also continues to be a surprise for us, because we can't come up with a first & middle name we like. So, for now, she is baby...the boys call her that too.
Today, i made them heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast. We are taking them to our friend's Blain & Crystal's tonite & Corby & I are going to dinner and a movie. Blain & Crystal have a daughter, Elaina, who's 3 & a son, Jameson, who's 18 months. The kids play well together. We watched them Wednesday night. So, today, we are just hanging out until we take them to the Stewarts. Not too much going on lately. We are excited for the Daytona 500 tomorrow!
