Tucker has been having constant ear infections for the last 4 months. They seem to be worse recently. He had one when we took him in for his 2 yr well check-up in January, but before that, he hadn't had one since August. Since the one in January, he has had at least 4...sometimes he has one that lingers after antibiotics. We have gone through about 4 antibiotics & in the last 4 weeks, he has been on 4 round of antibiotics; Zithromax, 2 different shots of Rocephin & Augmentin. He had a follow-up appt that was 3 weeks after his first ER visit & after 2 round of antibiotics in those 3 weeks & had a double ear infection. He already had a referral for an ENT in the works with an appt the next week. He got another round of antibiotics for that double ear infection. 6 days later, we went to the ENT...the Dr looked in his ears & you guessed it...another double ear infection, or the same one, but we are on ANOTHER round of antibiotics. He also looked in his throat & said his tonsills are huge. I had taken him to the ER 3 weeks before because his tonsills were TOUCHING & I was afraid to put him to bed like that. The ENT, Dr Manthei, said his infections are because of the bacteria trapped in his huge tonsills. He said he recommends tubes in his ears & taking his adenoids out...the problem is, because of the HUGE tonsills, he would continue to have infections...so we are also doing a tonsillectomy. He said he can't just take out his tonsills & leave the ears & adenoids alone because the ears are so waterlogged & used to it that they wouldn't drain properly. So we are doing the whole shebang. They could have scheduled him as early as this Wed (May 13), but Corby is TDY & we are waiting until he gets home. His surgery will be on May 27th & he will be the first surgery of the day. We go to the hospital at 6:30...if it was just tubes & adenoids, he would be done in the surgery center, but with the tonsills, it has to be done in the hospital so they can admit him if they need to. Depending on how the surgery goes & how well Tucker does, we may go home the same day or he may be admitted for a day or two. The DR does the tonsillectomy using coblation... there is a video if you follow this link:

Me & my boys
Corby was TDY on his birthday but when he got home, Wanda watched the boys & I took him out. He knew nothing about where we were going or what we were doing. It was kinda fun...for me! We went to the Wynn hotel on the strip & ate dinner at Stratta & saw Le Reve. I loved the show...I thought it was the best of the 3 I've seen. Corby liked it, but he liked others better. The funny part is, the show he's liked the most, KA, has been the least favorite of just about everyone we know, including me! We had a great time & hopefullly can go out just the 2 of us a few more time before we move.

Just the 2 of us

We played a little Super Jackpot Party
We have been swimming 3 days a week & even with 50 SPF, Braylen is sporting a nice tan already. He continues to be a water baby & it's hard getting him out of the pool to go home. Tucker would rather sit on my raft or have me hold him, but I'm sure when he's feeling better & gets used to the water again, he'll love it too. Corby is gone for another 8 days or so, then he'll be home for awhile. He won't leave again until the end of July, so the boys & I will come home for BRL & stay until he comes back from his TDY in early August. I'm looking forward to some time with family & I'm sure the boys can't wait to be spoiled too!
