Sickness & Brotherly Love

Kincaid had his 1st ear infection last week since having his tubes put in.  It was actually nice, to see the drainage, know it was an infection & get abx called in right away & not have to decide if he needed to be seen, battle for an appt & end up in the ER.  We weren't surprised because he's had the runny nose since he had the flu 3 almost 4 weeks ago & it ended up in his ears.  He has been doing much better, but last night, I noticed he had broken out in hives.  So, I talked to the Peds on call & his ENT last night & Peds wants to get him allergy tested since he has broken out in hives with 2 abx recently.  His ENT thinks he has Fifth Disease.  He had most of the symptoms including the 1 day of fever 5 days before the ear drainage started.  He doesn't have the rash on his cheeks, just on his belly, back, arms & legs & after a few doses of Benadryl, it's hardly noticable anymore.  He is doing great but tired.  I took a few pics yesterday.
