One of those days...

Yep, it's been one of those days.  We have been busy, busy, busy for the last week, with Grandma & Grandpa in town, Easter, appointments, MOPS & preschool, etc.  Braylen & Tucker actually told me yesterday that I was busy!  So, today was a day we had nothing to do & I was looking forward to spending the day at home & possibly going to church tonight where The City Harmonic was leading worship.  It kinda all went downhill from the beginning.
After breakfast, I decided to cut Kincaid's hair.  Just a trim, or so I thought.  I sat him on the counter near the sink & put the guard on the clipper & got distracted while I was trying to keep him on the counter & put on the #4 instead of the #6 & buzzed the top of his head.  Ooops...it was shorter than I wanted, but I was able to cut the bottom shorter & he looks like such a big boy now & was so good & sat so still.  Disaster averted...
I heard a pinging sound coming from upstairs after I cut Kincaid's hair.  I headed up & found Braylen & Tucker sitting on the floor of the playroom playing with extra aquarium rocks.  They had been throwing a small amount around & on the train table.  They had to pick up the rocks & then come down for lunch.
After lunch, I took Braylen & Tucker outside to cut their hair.  Somehow, I did the same thing with Braylen's hair but didn't realize it until I was finished!  I've been cutting their hair for over 3 years.  So, Braylen had a #2 on top & a #4 on the bottom & looked like a GOOBER!  I was able to fix his too & his also is very short but he still looks cute & it will grow.  Tucker escaped unscathed by going last, which was a good thing since he's the one who is the hardest to keep still.
While Kincaid napped, Braylen & Tucker headed upstairs to play & once again, I heard a pinging sound.  Upstairs, I found the same 2 boys with the same extra aquarium rocks but on a MUCH larger scale.  They were everywhere!  They started cleaning them up & 20 minutes later, weren't getting far.  Their hands starting turning black & blue from the rocks too & as much as I wanted them to clean it up themselves & learn a lesson, I didn't want my carpet to turn colors due to them scraping the rocks together to pick up.  So, I busted out the vacuum while they sat in time out. After everything got cleaned up & they got cleaned up, we grabbed a quick dinner & while I was getting it together, the boys told me the Easter story :)
Braylen told me how Jesus died & went into the cave.  Then He was gone & the angel told the lady that He was alive!  Tucker's version included Jesus going into a tree & scaring away monsters :).  We talked about how Jesus is alive & lives in Heaven & in our hearts & that he died to take our sins away.  Braylen asked me why I loved Jesus & I said because he died for me & he said that he loved Jesus "because he first loved me". After the day we had, which when I type it out doesn't seem that bad, it was so nice to have this discussion with my boys.  I told them that, one day, I wanted them to ask Jesus into their hearts.  It was a nice end to a crazy day.  Obviously, we didn't make it to church but that's ok.  :)  Bedtime for the boys now & momma's following soon!
