Blowing out his candle with help from Braylen

Enjoying his cake & his last day as a 1 yr old

My 2 yr old! He got to choose his dinner for his birthday...he chose pancakes, of course!

Tucker turned 2 on Monday...where has my baby gone? He already thinks he is equal to Braylen & it shows in his actions & attitude! He is totally a 2 year old. He has this look...eyes narrowed, eyebrows lowered...we are in for a heck of a year. We went to his 2 yr appt bright & early on Monday morning. He weighed 26 1/2 lbs and was 34 1/2 in. He gain 2 lbs & 2 in since his 18 mo appt. He had had a runny nose & had been coughing for about a week. I figured the cough was from the nose & the nose was most likely from the trip to the midwest 2 weeks before. When I mentioned it to the tech, who asked if I had any concerns, I was told that it could not be addressed. I could not have a well visit & a sick visit, I had to choose. I informed the tech that we would continue the well visit & I would call & make a sick appt as soon as we were done (I know, but he was just soo rude & he HAD asked if I had any concerns). The Dr came in & was great...she noticed his cough & I asked her about what the tech had said & she said she would check him over & if there was something going on, we would take care of it. It turned out that he had an ear infection. We had been doing so well in the illness category, especially since we moved here. So, Tucker is on Augmentin...dum dum dum... so far, so good. We celebrated his birthday on Sunday evening with the Stewarts & Tucker had a blast with his Cars cake.

In other news, we had started potty training Braylen last week, but had not been very consistent. He did very well & had 3 successes on Monday afternoon & no accidents. Tuesday afternoon, he did well again & I finally felt that he was getting it. He knew how to hold it, he wasn't afraid to go in the potty & he loved helping me flush it. Wednesday, we had a setback. I think he needed to go #2 & was afraid to do it in the potty, so he would not go in the potty at all. I finally was tired of fighting him & didn't want him to make a huge mess, so I gave him a choice between going potty & getting candy or a diaper...he chose a diaper. Today, he also threw a fit & once again, I gave in. I know I need to be more consistent, but sometimes I don't have the energy to fight him, especially when Tucker is crying too. So, after nap, we are going to get into undies & try again.

We went to the park Thursday, it was 69...the boys had a great time.

We went to the membership class for the church we like on Sunday. Everything seems great, they believe what we believe & we are excited to join the church. Last night, I tried out our church's Wed nite service. Corby has been up-range since Wed morning & I wasn't going to go this week. I decided to suck it up & go alone & it was wonderful. I'm so glad we have found a church where we fit in & we can serve. There are opportunities for me & Corby & the boys love going to their class to "play with kids". I went to MOPS on Tuesday & loved that as well. Things for us in Vegas are going pretty well right now. If only I could find a job...
