Potty time

We have decided to try to start potty training Braylen. I don't think I can cope with 3 in diapers, so we are giving ourselves & Braylen plenty of time before the baby is born to get it down. I started on Monday with him in a pull-up & taking him to the potty frequently. He totally freaked out. He cried & screamed & demanded a diaper. He never did go in the potty & screamed everytime I put him on it. Eventually he peed & pooped in the pull-up & I put him back in a diaper for lunch & nap. After nap, we tried the potty again (still cried) & put on his new Cars big boy undies that he got in his stocking. He was so excited! He loved his undies. He stayed dry for 2 hours & sat on the potty 3 times, then had an accident & I heard, "MOMMY!! I wet!" So, we sat on the potty...nothing. We put on another pair of undies. He had an accident 10 minutes later, "MOMMY! I wet!" We sat on the potty...nothing. We put on another pair of undies. He had an accident 10 minutes later, "MOMMY!! I wet!" We sat on the potty...nothing. So, we are realizing that he knows when he goes & doesn't like it, but we don't think it's clicking when he has to go yet. So, we went back to a diaper for bed & he's in diapers when we are out of the house, but we are trying undies when we are home. No success yet, he pees in his undies but not in the potty. I got him a potty chart & he is putting stickers on when he sits on the potty & he is now getting an M&M if he sits on the potty, but we have no stickers on the chart for going in the potty. I know this is going to take a while & a lot of patience. I need to be consistent & not just put on a diaper because it's easier for me (& it is easier).

Tucker sat on the potty, too, but he is not thrilled with it. I'm choosing my battles right now & I'm more concerned with getting Bray done & I'm sure Tucky will follow soon after. He wants to be just like Bray. I can't believe my baby is almost 2! We are having a little dinner for him with the Stewarts on Sunday nite with a Cars cake. We went to pick out the cake & i flipped the page in the book to Cars & Tucker said, "Oh! There it is! Cars!" So, he chose his cake & is very excited about it.

The boys got Hot Wheels tracks from Eric for Christmas & Corby put one together last nite. This one is a figure 8 & you have to press the car on this station & it charges it so it will run around the track. I can now say that Braylen is counting to 10 because of this track. He used to get to 6 & couldn't get past that. He now counts to 10 & does very well.

We are spending the day at home today, cleaning, getting a few household jobs done that we have been neglecting (knobs on cabinets, CO2 detectors hung, pictures hung) & then we have church tonite. Hopefully, we'll have a good day & maybe at least one successful trip to the potty!

Whoohoo! Braylen is doing great, at least he's telling you he's wet. Noah did that for the first week I think - but he's gotten the hang of it eventually. I love the pictures. Enjoy your day and hope that the night is great with church.

Ummm....I've taken a poll at work...and we think that the picture of Braylen on the potty in the living room is right on the border line of child porn.
